Recalcitrance - Fragmented Reality [Demo]

Given the good reception the first Recalcitrance demo got hereabouts, I thought I may as well post their second as well.

"Fragmented Realities" was recorded and released in 1990.
By this time, the band was a three piece, with Mike Smith having left to play in Deceased, bassist Billy Allen having been replaced by Chris Howard, and Mike Klein going off to do whatever it is ex-thrash vocalists do.

With them went the death metal flirtations and typical thrash metal structuring their previous demo, to be replaced with rapid-fire instrumental technicality, fluid, attention-neccessary songwriting, and a flair for experimentation with non-metal sounds.

You can get it here.

If you at all enjoy their material, and would like copy of one of their tapes, or you just would like to send the your regards to the members of the band, you can do so here.
I'm sure they would appreciate it.

Recalcitrance - Demo (1989)

Country - USA
Genre - Technical Thrash Metal

Recalcitrance was a thrash metal band from Virginia active in the active in the late 80's and early 90's. They went through a few lineup changes, and recorded two demos before breaking up. Little of this really matters, though. Why? Because the important thing here is that their '89 demo f***ing RIPS!
Four songs of technical-bordering-on-chaotic dynamic and aggressive old school thrash metal with tempo and time signature changes that destroy faces and solos that come out of nowhere to absolutely slay all things in their path.
Oh, and Mike Smith of Deceased played guitar on this release.

"Knowledge is nothing,
The laws of science are false,
Pleasure is pain,
Life is death,
What is now
is what was meant to be-
All that is certain
is the inevitability of the end!"
- Recalcitrance, 'Destined to Die'

Get this shit NOW.

Xysma - Above the Mind of Morbidity (1990) and Swrming of the Maggots (1989)

Country - Finland
Genre - Death/Grind
Review - Now we are talking grind here. This is one of the sickest EP you would ever listen to! Right from the opening madness of Foetal Mush to the outro of Cranial Cradle, this EP is the epitome of relentless brutality that would force you to pick a sledgehammer and make you fee like smashing the skulls of everyone in your way. Too bad this bad chose to remove a lots of punk and grind influenes from their full lengths otherwise they would have given Impetigo and Carcass a run for their money. The earlier demo "Swarming Through the Maggots" represents the raw version of band, Full of ultra short tracks and hyperfast grind. (Only if you can handle a bit raw production, You will adore it.)

Ripping Corpse - Splattered Remains (1989)

Most of you are familiar with Ripping Corpse's only full-length, 1991's "Dreaming With The Dead". Most of you consider it a masterpiece of deranged, shrieking and insanely fun death/thrash metal. But what if I told you that things were dirtier, sloppyer, madder and overall more fun in 1989? Some of the tracks on this demo went on to be re-recorded for their debut, but the absoulte highlight of Ripping Corpse's career (in my opinion) is here - "Exhumation Day". Man, that groove. Those riffs. Those excentric vocals. Those lyrics. Pure, sloppy, unadultered FUN. The songs on the album might have been a bit more well-played and polished, but a touch (or a helping) of dirt works wonders.
I guess that's all I need to say about this. You know what to do next.

Gammacide - Victims of Science (1989)

This one is among the fastest and most breathtaking thrash LPs I can think of. This band somehow manages to play at high speed level and groove the same time. If you are digging Sacred Reich's Ignorance or Evildead's Annihilation of the Civilization you will know this one probably, but if you do not do so yet you should get it as soon as possible. Every Track is worth listening since the riffing stays consistantly interesting and the vocals have their own particular mean sound.
