Frigid Bich - A&M Promo (1981)

(No cover art available so here is the logo instead)

This demo is a classic. Well, it would be if more people listened to it. This could be NWoBHM if it wasn't from the US. It also has a bit of that NWoBHM sound, too.

The lyrics are in this demo are about being rebellious and Jack teh Ripper. A good example of this is "We don't care about society. Our long hair and leather stays."

What I like most about this is the audible bass, it really stands out, even when things speed up. All in all, this is a pretty enjoyable, albeit short demo.

Morbid Scream - The Signal to Attack 1986-1990 (2007)

MORBID SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM.
This is pretty much a compilation of their demos, and a few live recording.
Morbid Scream was a kvlt death/thrash band. They were active from 1986-1990, til they changed their name to The Morbid and released one more demo.
Anyway, this is pretty much death/thrash goodness, it has some pretty memorable riffs and the vocals really stand out. They're like some sort of proto-growl/yell.

Tracks 1 & 2: From Demo I (1987)
Tracks 3 - 6: From Demo II (1988)
Track 7: Unreleased Studio Track
Tracks 8 - 12: Live 11/11/87
Tracks 13 - 15: Live 6/3/88
Tracks 16 - 19: Live 10/28/88

Demolition Hammer - Tortured Existence (1990)

This one is a classic, so some of you probably know it. This is heavy as fuck death/thrash, with an emphasis on the thrash. They also have some of the best lyrics, haha.
Not much I can say about this one, you'll just have to check it out yourself.

Randy Holden - Population II (1968)

Genre - Hard Rock
Country - USA
Here we have an obscure 60's gem of proto-metal/hard rock. Randy Holden was pretty much a Guitar God, back in the 60's. You'll probably most remember him from his brief role in Blue Cheer, or The Other Half, if at all.
Anyway, this album is pretty much riffs and some fantastic drumming by Chris Lockheed, with some breathy singing by Randy. But don't be fooled, the focus is on the guitar playing. In short, Randy Holden > Jimi Hendrix

Abhorrent [Nor] - Occultus Brujeria (1990)

What we have here is a nice pocket sized demo, released by a Norwegian band, so you know it's good. They later became Thyabhorrent, but I don't know if they released anymore material.
Anyway, this is their only demo. It's pretty epic, and I know I throw that word around a lot, but I mean it this time. It's got a nice buzz to it, and the production actually does wonders.
It's got chants, operatic singing, piano, what sounds like a synth and it just chugs along, in a good way. My only complaints are that the vocals are barely heard at some points.
If you like Timeghoul, you'll probably like this.
